Hallucinations are one of the most common clinical manifestations of schizophrenia, and the control of hallucinations in schizophrenia patients is a major concern for the patients’ families. The control of this symptom is treated with pharmacotherapy as the preferred treatment measure. In recent years, antipsychotics are mostly used as atypical antipsychotics, such as risperidone, olanzapine, paliperidone, amisulpride, clozapine, ziprasidone, asenapine, brunanserin, lurasidone, etc. Because of the unique advantages of this class of drugs in terms of side effects and clinical efficacy, they have gradually replaced the first-generation antipsychotics in clinical applications. However, in some economically backward areas, first-generation antipsychotics are still widely used, such as chlorpromazine, fenazepam, haloperidol, pentafluridol, sulpiride, etc.
