What are infectious molluscum contagiosum?

Molluscum contagiosum is an infectious disease of the skin caused by the infectious molluscum contagiosum virus. It can be transmitted in public baths, swimming pools or through sexual contact, but in children it is usually transmitted through direct contact and autoinoculation. You should avoid using scrubbing towels, share towels and other toiletries with your family, and try not to scratch to avoid auto-inoculation. It takes months or even years for the disease to fade on its own, and it is highly contagious to itself, so it should be treated as soon as it is detected.

The main treatment is surgical extraction, after which the patient’s towels and intimate clothing should be ironed, the wound should be kept away from water for a week, and alcohol should be used for disinfection and topical antibiotics. If a new rash grows after surgery, it is necessary to seek immediate medical attention to avoid a new round of auto-inoculation, which can generally be cured in 2-3 treatments. If there are recurrent episodes, low immunity should be considered, and treatment with immune-modifying drugs can be used as appropriate.

In order to prevent the occurrence of this disease, good hygiene habits should be developed, do not wear other people’s clothes indiscriminately, especially do not use other people’s bath towels, scrubbing towels, etc.
