How many years can you live with a carotid thrombosis?

Carotid artery thrombosis generally refers to carotid artery atherosclerotic plaque, there is no specific how many years you can live, mild carotid artery thrombosis can be improved by oral medication, and severe carotid artery thrombosis can be treated by surgical intervention.
Carotid artery thrombosis is generally caused by atherosclerosis. Patients with mild carotid plaque have no obvious symptoms. In severe cases, the blood flow to the carotid artery is reduced, and the vessel wall is thickened, narrowed, or occluded, causing ischemia in the brain, which is often manifested by dizziness, headache, and weakness of the limbs, and hemiparesis in severe cases.
Mild patients can stabilize the plaque by improving their life style, light diet, proper exercise, oral aspirin enteric-coated tablets, atorvastatin calcium tablets and so on.
Severe carotid artery thrombosis can be treated surgically by giving carotid artery stenting, in which the stenosis is propped open by a guide wire to dilate the blood vessels, stabilize the plaque and restore blood flow.
Carotid atherosclerotic plaques are found to require active medical treatment under the guidance of a doctor.
