This is a great concern for many patients and doctors. It is recognized by the medical community that long-term excessive intake or injection of vitamin C is one of the vitiligo triggers. Some scholars have observed that vitiligo may be induced if the daily intake of vitamin C reaches or exceeds 1-3g. I personally have encountered two cases of vitiligo patients, daily static injection of vitamin C 3g, after 10 days of continuous use, the original white spot area expanded and appeared multiple new white spots. The actual vitiligo can’t be eaten by many doctors and patients. A large number of studies have concluded that vitamin C only has a retarding effect on the melanocyte’s complexinase, and the disappearance of melanocytes is the result of an autoimmune reaction by T lymphocytes, which is not necessarily linked to vitamin C during the physiological period. Only long-term excessive use of vitamin C may induce vitiligo, if the daily vitamin C intake does not exceed 1g on vitiligo patients have no effect.
So vitiligo patients oral vitamin C do not go from one extreme to another, for vitamin C rich fruits and vegetables as long as it is not an excessive amount of long-term taking, is completely fine.
