Hemorrhoids are divided into external, internal, mixed and thrombosed hemorrhoids, which have different symptoms. 1. External hemorrhoids: pain, anal swelling, bleeding. (1) Pain: mainly manifested as pain and itching in the anus. (2) Anal swelling: Swelling occurs because of inflammation in the perianal area. (3) Bleeding: after straining to defecate, bleeding symptoms will appear. 2. Internal hemorrhoids: painless bleeding, itching, discomfort, pain. (1) Painless bleeding: no discomfort is felt during defecation, blood drips or spurts after defecation, and bright red blood can be found on toilet paper. (2) Itching: internal hemorrhoids ooze mucus, which irritates the skin around the anal canal and causes itching. (3) Discomfort: Because the hemorrhoidal tissue at the end of the large intestine bulges resulting in a bowel movement even after defecation. (4) Pain: If the pain is severe, it indicates that the blood supply to the hemorrhoids has been blocked, with phenomena such as ingrown hemorrhoids. 3. Mixed hemorrhoids: Patients with mixed hemorrhoids have symptoms of both internal and external hemorrhoids. 4. Thrombosed hemorrhoids: formed when blood gathers on the external hemorrhoids, symptoms such as severe pain, swelling, and hard lumps around the anus will occur. If the above symptoms occur, it is recommended to actively seek medical attention and follow the doctor’s instructions for treatment under the guidance of the doctor.
