Vitiligo treatment is mainly based on internal medicine. In many patients, after long-term medical treatment, the disease can be controlled and no longer progresses, but the recovery of color in the depigmented areas remains suboptimal. For these patients, there are surgical methods that can help the recovery of pigmentation. Currently, a new treatment method is being carried out in China by the Department of Plastic Surgery at Peking Union Medical College Hospital, with clinically satisfactory results. The principle of this method is to cut a part of the skin from a healthy skin area, apply a new device to separate it to form a cell suspension and transplant it to the lesioned area. The procedure is simpler than the traditional method, with less damage and good results.
