So, how about the main treatment methods of ancient acupuncturists for this type of disease? Let’s lift up the most classic work of acupuncture, the “Ling Shu” needle scriptures, and see what they have to say. The Ling Shu? After discussing the distribution of the meridian tendons, the “Jing Tendons” says about the treatment of meridian tendon diseases: “The treatment is to burnt needles and robbing pricks, to know as the number, to pain as the infusion”. Burnt, from the relevant canonical texts of the Nei Jing era, can be understood as: 1. roasting, baking. The Book of Songs? Xiao Ya? Gourd leaves” “burnt by the gun.” 2. to burn. Han Feizi? He Shi (The Book of Poetry): “Burnt the Poem and the Book and made clear the decree.” Burnt needle means fire needle. Ling Shu? Guan Yin (Official Needle): “The one who pricks, pricks burnt needles to take paralysis.” The Classical Classic, Volume 19, Zhang Jiebin said: “It is said to burn the needles and stab, that is, the genus of the later burning needles, to take the cold paralysis used.” The acupuncture and moxibustion Dacheng, volume six, said clearly: “fire needles, a burnt needles.” The second refers to the warm needle. Su Wen? In the Nei Jing, in addition to burnt needles and n-pricks, the application of circular needles and large needles is often mentioned for the treatment of meridian diseases. I have a deep appreciation for this passage of the Nei Jing due to the frequent use of fire needling and acupuncture therapy. But the fire needle also has its limitations, the joint gap is not good to use, the yin surface nerve large blood vessel distribution area can not be used. Therefore, fire needling and warm needling can be used in combination. As for the pain as a loss, is not as simple as most people say Mr. A is the point, pain loss is not the patient can easily speak clearly, depending on the doctor’s knowledge and experience accumulated over the years, acupuncture therapy is an obvious example. Those so-called Confucian doctors who memorize fixed points in textbooks by rote and ridicule others for their choice of Ah Yes points will find it difficult to make a difference in the treatment of meridian diseases. For those acupuncturists who have not yet mastered the skills of fire acupuncture, the treatment of warm acupuncture should focus on the thickness of the acupuncture needle and the amount of moxibustion fire.
