In the medical clinic, the treatment of amblyopia is very effective, more than 95% of children can be cured; however, amblyopia treatment is very special to the age requirements, beyond a certain age there is no way to cure, this is due to the age of the visual nerve to stop development caused, just like the fruit once the shape, it can no longer change its characteristics. The treatment of amblyopia is really “after this village, there is no such store”. Amblyopia treatment emphasizes early detection and early treatment, and the younger the age, the better the treatment effect. In the clinic, we often see some very sad cases of amblyopia, because they did not receive timely and correct treatment as children, they are seriously affected in many aspects such as choosing a career and going to university as adults, and when they come to the doctor, the doctor can’t help them. Therefore, for each child with amblyopia, I try to let him/her know as much as possible about the relationship and related precautions, and explain the treatment plan in detail. I think that maybe if I explain a little more, I will help one more child not to take a wrong turn or less, and help one more child to have a better treatment. As a doctor, although the labor intensity is very high at the peak, often so tired that I do not want to say a word more, but I still insist on doing so. Because, this is the basic duty of a doctor, but also a basic requirement for myself. This is not a cliché, as a mother, I can understand the anxiety of the parents of the children; as a doctor, the satisfaction of the patients is my greatest joy! The doctor is certainly an important aspect of amblyopia treatment, but it is not enough to rely on the doctor alone. In our clinical work, we found that patients with poor amblyopia treatment often show poor compliance and do not implement or are skeptical of the treatment plan explained by the doctor. The doctor’s treatment plan ultimately depends on the patient to implement, if the implementation of the discount, the best treatment plan will be wasted, it is impossible to obtain satisfactory results. Of course, there are many reasons for this, and even problems with medical institutions. Nowadays, amblyopia treatment is not standardized enough in some places, and parents often do not know what to do when they listen to different doctors’ plans, and take many detours, or even give up treatment, unfortunately. As a doctor specializing in strabismus, I sincerely hope that doctors and parents of children with amblyopia will work together so that every child with amblyopia can be well treated and can achieve a cure!
