Imaging of necrotizing pancreatitis

Increased pancreatic volume and blurring of the surrounding fat lumen are the main manifestations of pancreatic necrosis. If combined with necrosis, imaging may reveal irregular liquefaction in the pancreas.CT and MRI can clarify the presence or absence of hemorrhagic areas, and if there are hemorrhagic spots, CT shows hyperdense images and MRI shows characteristic signal changes. Necrotizing pancreatitis is a serious physiologic phenomenon caused by ischemic necrosis and even erosion of the pancreas due to severe pancreatitis. Necrotizing pancreatitis may be characterized by pancreatic enlargement and blurring of the peripancreatic fat space. If combined with necrosis, imaging may reveal irregular liquefaction within the pancreas.CT and MRI can clarify the presence or absence of hemorrhagic areas, and if there are hemorrhagic spots, CT shows hyperdense images and MRI shows characteristic signal changes. If the patient has necrotizing pancreatitis, it is recommended that he be hospitalized in time to determine the severity of the disease and to carry out targeted treatment.
