The best time to take prednisone once a day

Prednisone is a glucocorticoid drug that is best taken once daily usually between 7-8 am. Prednisone mainly has anti-inflammatory, anti-allergic and immunosuppressive effects and can be used in the treatment of a variety of diseases, including allergic diseases, autoimmune related diseases such as systemic lupus erythematosus, severe bronchial asthma, vasculitis, acute leukemia, etc. As the secretion of glucocorticoids in human body has circadian rhythmic changes, the peak secretion is 7-8 am, and gradually decreases after 2-3 pm, and the secretion is the least until midnight. Therefore, the best time to take prednisone once a day is 7-8 am, because it can be taken at this time to form the peak of the drug together with the glucocorticoids secreted by the body, which can better play the role of prednisone and reduce its side effects. Prednisone should be avoided if there are fungal or viral infections such as ringworm, tinea pedis, chicken pox, or herpes.
