Some students or parents think that the more glasses they wear, the deeper the prescription, so they don’t want their children to wear glasses, but this thinking is wrong. We advocate wearing frame glasses, children and adolescents have strong adjustment power, and they must have their pupils fully dilated before getting glasses, i.e. they must have their pupils dilated for optometry, and wear glasses with appropriate prescription and qualified lens quality. You should also choose the right size frame according to the pupil distance and optometry. Remember: children and adolescents should not wear contact lenses (also known as corneal contact lenses), corneal contact lenses require high hygiene conditions, requiring strict cleaning operations, tedious care, requiring certain operating skills, long wear is prone to chronic conjunctivitis, wearing discomfort is prone to keratitis, children are relatively difficult to grasp, so children and adolescents are best not to wear contact lenses, so as not to cause unnecessary complications. Children and adolescents should not use excimer laser to treat myopia. The principle of excimer laser is to perform laser cutting on the cornea to change the refractive state of the cornea, it cannot treat myopia fundamentally, and some people will have some complications after surgery. Since the refractive error of children and adolescents is unstable and is changing and deepening, they should never take excimer laser surgery to treat myopia.
