What are the other types and mixed types of cervical spondylosis?

Other types of cervical spondylosis: Other scholars believe that there are other types of cervical spondylosis, such as esophageal cervical spondylosis with dysphagia as the main complaint due to hyperplasia of the anterior edge of the cervical vertebrae. There are also those named after a prominent symptom, such as hypertensive cervical spondylosis, hearing reduction cervical spondylosis, vision reduction cervical spondylosis, and aphasia cervical spondylosis. However, due to the pathological changes and incidence of other types of cervical spondylosis, they have not yet been recognized in clinical practice. Mixed cervical spondylosis: It is called mixed type when 2 or more of the above types of cervical spondylosis occur in the same patient at the same time. Clinically, mixed type cervical spondylosis is more common than but for type cervical spondylosis. When a series of pathological changes occur in the cervical spine and soft tissues over the years involving structures such as cervical spinal nerve roots, cervical spinal cord, vertebral artery or cervical sympathetic nerve, often not only one type of tissue is involved, but several tissues are often stimulated or compressed at the same time. For example, cervical disc degeneration and herniation, narrowing of the intervertebral space, resulting in narrowing of the intervertebral foramen, compression of the nerve roots, compression of the sinus nerve, tortuous deformation of the vertebral artery, intervertebral instability, and folding of the ligamentum flavum to reduce the diameter of the spinal canal and compression of the spinal cord. In addition, the hyperplasia of the hook vertebral joint can stimulate and compress the spinal cord, spinal nerve roots, vertebral artery and sympathetic nerve tissues simultaneously or secondarily. Moreover, early manifestations of a single type of cervical spondylosis can evolve into a mixed type at a later stage. Therefore, mixed type cervical spondylosis is more common.
