Blepharoplasty is one of the most performed procedures in plastic and cosmetic surgery and can be summarized into 3 types of procedures: incision, suture, and buried suture [1]. Of these, the incisional blepharoplasty is widely used for its wide range of indications and for the aesthetic and long-lasting appearance of the blepharoplasty, but the traditional incisional method has a long incision and a more pronounced postoperative scar. The buried wire method, on the other hand, does not remove the overlying tissue in front of the lid, resulting in a bloated postoperative eyelid and often a dislodged knot and loss of the eyelid line. Therefore choosing a surgical method with minimal postoperative scarring and beautiful, long-lasting blepharoplasty results is a goal that plastic and cosmetic surgeons have been exploring and pursuing.
Since October 2013, we have improved on the application of the three-point mini-incision blepharoplasty by reducing three short incisions to one short incision and performing a single-point mini-incision blepharoplasty on 49 patients with good surgical results, which are reported below.
