How can I protect myself from AIDS?

December 1, 2016 is the 29th World AIDS Day. The theme of the campaign is “Fighting AIDS Together, Focusing on Prevention”. By the end of October 2015, a total of 575,000 cases of HIV infection and patients were reported to be alive nationwide, with 177,000 deaths. Beijing has 12,000 HIV cases in treatment. Currently, 90% of HIV infections are sexually transmitted, and the proportion of teenagers and gay men is rising the fastest, as shown by the number of people attending my clinic. Whenever I see these young and ignorant faces, I feel deeply distressed. If I could get in touch with the knowledge of sexual health earlier and protect myself more, HIV infection, including many STDs, could be avoided. How to protect yourself from AIDS? First, let’s look at the approximate amount of HIV in various body fluids. As you can see from the picture, although AIDS is transmitted by body fluids, the viral content of different body fluids is not the same, so things like normal eating, ritual kissing, mosquito bites, etc. will not infect you with AIDS. So what are the high-risk behaviors that can lead to HIV infection? Look at the chart below (Whether it is high risk, general risk or non-risk, it is actually a behavior and cannot be used as a result of the determination! Just these behaviors in turn have a comparison, so that you have a simple understanding of the chances of infection, but in the end, you still have to rely on reagent testing to determine whether you are infected with HIV! You cannot rely on symptoms to determine, there are some people who have no physical symptoms, there are also many people who have symptoms caused by psychological reasons to react, such as fear, fear, staying up late, etc. causing low immunity to some symptoms, so you must believe in science and technology, and formal testing is the way to go. –(The pictures and descriptions are from Beijing Red Ribbon Home) As you can see above, staying away from high-risk behaviors, being clean, and using condoms as much as possible without knowing each other’s health can greatly reduce the chance of HIV infection. In the past, we mainly talked about the ABC principle (abstinence, fidelity, condom). Nowadays, we advocate the principle of ABCDE: A-Abstinence control, say no to high-risk behavior; B-Be
Faithful loyalty, loyalty to a lover or partner. c-Condom
Condom, if you have sex, use condoms throughout and correctly. d-Decision, decide when you shouldn’t have sex; decide to use condoms when you have sex; avoid all unsafe injections. e-
ESTIMATE Judgment: Different people face different scenarios, but it is important to make health-friendly judgments at all times. Therefore, protecting yourself from HIV relies more on personal control and judgment, refraining from high-risk behaviors, being faithful to your partner, and condoms are just the last line of safety. Being clean and keeping to the bottom line is the best way to protect yourself.
