Blood clots are generally difficult to heal on their own; a few small clots can heal on their own, but most should be treated with active options of medication, surgery, or intervention. Blood clots usually form gradually due to platelet aggregation as a result of increased blood viscosity, vascular endothelial cell damage, and abnormal blood flow status. If the thrombus is in the early stage of formation and is small in size, it may be dissolved and absorbed by the body’s fibrinolytic enzyme source. However, most thrombi require active treatment. Thrombosis can be divided into venous thrombosis and arterial thrombosis. 1. Arterial thrombosis occurs in the heart, brain, lungs and other organs, should be timely intervention to dissolve the thrombus; if the internal medicine treatment is not good, surgery should be considered. 2. The treatment of venous thrombosis is mainly based on medication, commonly used drugs are aspirin, warfarin, dipyridamole and so on. If drug therapy is not effective, surgery and intervention should be considered. Once thrombosis is detected, it should be treated actively and attention should be paid to strengthening life management to avoid aggravation of the condition.
