How to check for nasal bone fractures

To check whether the nasal bone is fractured, firstly, we need to ask the patient whether he/she has any history of trauma, and then we need to further confirm it through physical examination and imaging examination.1. History: Nasal bone fracture occurs most often in the case of trauma, such as collision, fall, or being hit by fists resulting in broken or fractured nasal bone, therefore, we need to ask about the history of trauma; 2. Physical examination: We need to check the nose for any redness, swelling, deflection, collapse, etc., and we need to check the nose for any bleeding or nasal congestion. 3. Bleeding, nasal congestion, etc.; 3. Imaging examination: If the diagnosis of nasal fracture cannot be confirmed by physical examination alone, it can be further clarified by lateral X-ray of the nasal bone, CT of the nasal bone, CT of the nasal bone plus three-dimensional reconstruction, etc., to see if there is any fracture of the nasal bone or misalignment of the nasal bone. If the diagnosis of nasal bone fracture is confirmed, but the symptoms are mild, and there is no obvious deformity in the appearance of the nasal cavity, such as collapsed, skewed, etc., it may not be corrected surgically, and conservative treatment is sufficient. If there is obvious deformity of the external nose, the deformity needs to be adjusted by nasal orthopedics. Do not collide, press or pinch the nose for 1 month after the fracture is reset, and use a towel to wipe the cheeks when washing the face, to avoid touching, pressure and other effects on the healing of the trauma.
