The “nasal fracture” that should not be ignored

Winter to spring, the weather is sunny, Sun Hao about a few classmates out to play basketball, but did not want to grab the ball, was hit by a classmate’s elbow to the nose, a blood flow. Sun Hao’s classmates said, at that time jumped up to grab the rebound, did not notice the side of Sun Hao, may be lifting the hand, some force, elbow action a little larger. Sun Hao said that his classmate’s elbow hit him straight in the nose, he immediately felt a hot mess around the nose, nosebleed came out. The nose is particularly soft and painful, thought the nose lost, panic. The nasal bone is located in the nose below the frontal bone, which is the most prominent part of the human face. And the nasal bone has a thin structure, which is highly susceptible to fracture when subjected to trauma. The degree of nasal fracture varies depending on the circumstances of the violence, and can therefore take on a variety of imaging forms. The most common symptoms of nasal fracture are localized pain, nasal bleeding, collapse or deviation of the upper part of the nasal bridge, and subcutaneous bruising. Many patients do not go to the hospital in time after nose injury, believing that nasal bleeding is normal after a collision and will be fine after stopping the bleeding and pain. However, some people find that their nose becomes crooked after half a month and they have severe nasal congestion, which affects their breathing and sleep. Subsequent examination at the hospital reveals that the problem is left over from the accident half a month ago and that surgery is needed to correct it. Nasal fractures should never be ignored in people who have suffered a severe impact on the nose. Once a nasal bone fracture occurs, it should be treated promptly, preferably within one hour, when the tissue is not yet swollen, and after several hours, the soft tissues of the nose swell and subcutaneous emphysema can appear after blowing the nose, with a twisting sensation when touched, and the deformity is concealed with a strong painful sensation when touched. In some patients, after nasal trauma, the nasal septal cartilage deviates from the midline and the anterior edge protrudes to one side of the nasal cavity. Deviation and dislocation of the nasal septum due to trauma will lead to nasal congestion and other symptoms. If there is a submucosal hematoma, the nasal septum will bulge to one or both sides, and if secondary infection occurs, it will cause nasal septal hematoma followed by abscess, and cartilage necrosis may lead to saddle nose deformity. Therefore, patients with nasal contusion caused by trauma should go to hospital for examination and treatment in time, and generally should not exceed 10 days to avoid deformity healing. In addition, should pay attention to rest, avoid direct head blowing wind, wear glasses, should be temporarily removed. Because of poor nasal breathing, often with the help of mouth breathing, so it is more appropriate to keep the air fresh and moist. Furthermore, if you have a cough or allergic rhinitis, try to control coughing and sneezing. Finally, in the early stage of the fracture, the swelling and pain are severe, and the fever and appetite are low, so the diet should not be excessive and the dishes should not be greasy. In the later stage, the swelling and pain are gradually relieved and the appetite is gradually restored to normal, so nutrition can be enhanced to promote healing.
