How soon can you go to work after ectopic pregnancy

It is recommended to rest for about 2-4 weeks after ectopic pregnancy before engaging in daily labor, which should also be assessed according to the surgical procedure and postoperative recovery. In the case of minimally invasive laparoscopic surgery, the recovery time is shortened and recovery is faster because of the small surgical incision. If the ectopic pregnancy surgery is a transabdominal incision, the trauma is larger and the recovery time is longer, the postoperative recuperation time can be extended appropriately, and it is generally recommended to return to work about 1 month after the surgery, especially for heavy physical labor. If one side of the fallopian tube is removed during ectopic pregnancy surgery, the postoperative trauma will heal quickly and the patient can rest for 2-3 weeks before returning to her daily work; if part of the uterus is removed during ectopic pregnancy surgery, the postoperative trauma will heal slowly and the uterine contraction will cause significant abdominal pain, so she can rest for 3-4 weeks before returning to work. Regardless of the type of ectopic pregnancy surgery, postoperative blood HCG levels should be monitored to drop to a normal non-pregnant state, and sexual intercourse should be prohibited for 1 month, and in the case of angular pregnancy, strict contraception is also required for 1 year.
