How long does it take to treat an ectopic pregnancy conservatively with medication

The time needed for drug conservative treatment of ectopic pregnancy varies depending on the patient’s sensitivity to the drug and needs to be analyzed on a case-by-case basis. If the gestational sac of ectopic pregnancy has not ruptured, the blood HCG is less than 2000IU/L, and the ectopic pregnancy mass is less than 4cm, then the patient can undergo drug conservative treatment. At the 4th and 7th day of drug treatment, blood HCG is tested, if blood HCG decreases significantly, the treatment can be repeated without repeating; if blood HCG decreases <15%, the treatment needs to be repeated until the blood HCG value decreases to 5 IU/L. If the patient with conservative treatment is sensitive to the drug, the treatment time may be about 1-2 weeks. If the sensitivity to the drugs is low, it may be prolonged to about 3-4 weeks and possibly up to 2 months. Patients need to be aware that if acute abdominal pain or tubal rupture occurs during the course of conservative treatment with drugs, immediate surgical treatment is still required.
