Protecting your hearing is a matter of urgency

Do you usually like to wear headphones to listen to music? Do you like to talk on the phone with your friends? Do you work or study in a noisy environment? Do you live in a quiet environment? Many people are used to these questions, but few people understand that these habits and environments can damage hearing. If you like to listen to music with headphones, listen to songs at a loud volume, work in a noisy environment, or have suffered from otitis media, please be careful: get your hearing checked as soon as possible to avoid the risk of deafness without realizing it. Hearing is easily damaged when you are in a noise-filled environment. This study is based on the findings of more than 1,000 French military recruits after their medical examinations. It is especially noteworthy that listening to music on headphones and answering the phone for long periods of time are the main causes of hearing loss in modern times, and the risk of deafness is much higher if you have also suffered from middle ear infections. If you notice that your hearing is getting worse, please go to an ENT doctor for a check-up as soon as possible. The fast pace and high pressure of modern life, as well as noise, pollution and improper medication, have made ear disease and hearing impairment a major problem that affects people’s life and communication. Living or working in a noisy environment for a long time without any protective measures will lead to permanent hearing damage. Noise has many negative effects on people’s health and normal life, and cannot be ignored. Studies show that 37% of hearing disabilities are closely related to noise injuries. Longer exposure to noise can cause symptoms such as headache, dizziness, fatigue, slow reaction time, memory loss and insomnia. An ambient sound of 30 decibels to 50 decibels does not affect people; when the sound is above 90 decibels, people’s hearing can be seriously affected; if the sound exceeds 175 decibels, it may even trigger heart resonance and cause death. So, how to reduce the harm of noise to the human body? Here to remind everyone, try to stay away from the noise source. For sudden high-intensity explosive sounds or emergencies, use your fingers to plug in the outer ear canal, or use the way to smell the sound and open your mouth, or use ear protectors such as ear muffs and ear plugs to reduce the degree of noise damage. Many white-collar workers living in metropolitan areas choose to use soundproof earplugs to isolate noise in order to achieve the purpose of quiet sleep. When buying such ear protectors, it should be noted that there are two types of ear plugs on the market: one is labor ear plugs, which are disposable products used for hearing protection in special factory workshops and are sold at a cheap price but are relatively poor in quality, while the other is noise protection ear plugs specifically for daily life, which are characterized by durability and high elasticity with good flexibility and no damage to the ear canal. The theme of this year’s event is “Reduce Noise, Protect Hearing”. If you experience dizziness, tinnitus, hearing loss and other symptoms, you should go to a regular hospital for timely treatment to ensure hearing health.
