Loci plus acupoint drug injections in the treatment of pediatric hearing impairment

Clinically, children with cerebral palsy are often combined with hearing impairment. Hearing impairment in children should be diagnosed within 3 months of age and intervened within 6 months of age. If hearing impairment cannot be treated in time and the optimal time for hearing development is missed, it will lead to language development disorder due to hearing defects, and ultimately lead to deafness and mute disability, which will seriously affect the quality of life of the affected children. Due to the young age of the child and uncooperative examination, it is often difficult to complete various subjective audiometric measurements in the early postnatal period if we rely only on routine auditory behavior to determine the child’s hearing impairment, which often leads to underdiagnosis and delays in the timing of corrective treatment. Auditory brainstem evoked potentials (ABR) is a sensitive test for the early detection of hearing impairment in children with CP, and can provide an objective neurophysiological basis for the pathogenesis and pathophysiology of cerebral palsy. Clinical ABR testing should be performed as early as possible in these children. Cerebral evoked potential examination is convenient and easy to perform, and it has certain value for early diagnosis of hearing impairment in children with cerebral palsy, observation of therapeutic effect, and judgment of prognosis.
