How is the laser treatment for the bright red nevus (red birthmark) treated?

Among birthmarks, there is a kind of red color called vivid nevus, which can also be called wine spot, and is commonly known as “red birthmark” or “hemangioma”, which is a capillary malformation containing many tiny blood vessels and can occur anywhere on the body. They can range in size from the size of a pinpoint to the involvement of an entire limb, and those located on the face are often very prominent and difficult to conceal. Erythema nevosum is a benign vascular malformation with an incidence of about 0.3% of the total population. This birthmark grows as the child grows and does not fade on its own. Most of them occur on the head, face and neck. They appear as flat pink patches at birth that turn red and purplish with age and gradually rise above the skin in a nodular pattern, sometimes with hypertrophy and asymmetry of the affected area. The lesion is not life-threatening, but has a significant psychological impact on the patient. In the past, it was treated with surgery, cryotherapy, X-ray irradiation, electrocautery and tattooing, but the results were not effective. Now laser has become an effective treatment tool. As a rule, young children, light-colored lesions are treated better, while large, dark, thickened lesions are less effective. At present, laser treatment can lighten the color of some lesions by up to 60-70%, and in some cases, the effect of removal cannot be completely achieved. The disease needs several times treatment, each treatment interval 6-8 weeks, after treatment, the local is purple-red patch-like, for subcutaneous purpura, 5-7 days after a thin scab off, during treatment should pay attention to sun protection.
