Recently, many patients have come to the clinic because of cryptoptera dermatitis, and during the class, we also found many students suffering from cryptoptera dermatitis, and some of them are very serious, so we feel it is necessary to share some knowledge about the prevention and treatment of cryptoptera dermatitis. To prevent the occurrence of cryptoptera dermatitis, we must first know what cryptoptera looks like. Cryptoptera is a small beetle with a body length of 0.5-1 cm, black head, orange chest, yellow and black stripes on the trunk, and sheath wings usually covering the front abdomen. The insect is diurnal, living in a moist, dark place during the day and coming out to feed at night, preferring light. When it crawls on the human body at night, if the insect body is crushed by hand clapping, the strong acidic venom in the insect will flow out, causing an acute inflammatory reaction, namely “cryptoptera dermatitis”. The rash is mainly erythema, papule, blister, pustule, vesicle, can be light or heavy, the lighter the affected area has burning pain and slight itching, serious local pain and accompanied by fever, headache, nausea, vomiting and other systemic symptoms So it is very necessary to do a good job of prevention and treatment of cryptophid dermatitis. If a cryptophid falls on your skin, don’t slap it with your hands, but knock it to the ground first, then step on it with your feet or use paper or plastic bags to kill it and put it in the garbage. If the insects have touched the skin, it should be applied with soap and peptone in time, keep it for 5-6 minutes and then rinse with water, repeat several times to neutralize the acidic venom, if the lesion is red and swollen, you can apply weak hormone cream such as Eudragit. 200mg, 3 times a day; for severe rash, take prednisone 30mg orally every day for 3-5 days, and if combined with bacterial infection, add antibiotics orally. If fever, headache, nausea, vomiting and other symptoms of systemic toxicity appear, promptly go to the hospital for consultation and treatment.
