What to do about macular eyes

The macula is a medical term for an area in the fundus of the eye, located 0.35 cm below the temporal side of the optic nerve, which is rich in lutein and has a small yellowish concavity called the macula, and is the place where vision is sharpest and invisible to our naked eye. Diseases in the macula are collectively called “macular lesions”, such as macular fissure, macular anterior membrane, central plasma chorioretinopathy, macular edema, age-related macular lesions, etc. Macular lesions can have the following symptoms: loss of vision, distorted and smaller visual objects, abnormal color vision, etc. Macular lesions can occur in all age groups, the elderly are prone to age-related macular degeneration; middle-aged people are prone to central plasma chorioretinopathy, referred to as “central pulp”; children playing with laser lights, accidental eye injury, prone to “macular fissure”. The treatment of macular degeneration differs depending on the type of lesion, for example, if it is macular fissure or macular anterior membrane pulling will form a fissure, timely surgery should be performed; if it is age-related macular degeneration, vitreous cavity injection of anti-VEGF drugs such as “Rezumab” and “Compazepine” is feasible. In case of age-related macular degeneration, vitreous cavity injection of “Rezumab”, “Compazep” and other anti-VEGF drugs is feasible. Since the macular area is the most critical part of seeing, it is important to seek medical attention in time if macular degeneration occurs. If it is a yellow patch on the white eye seen in two diseases: 1, lid fissure spot: It is a yellow-white conjunctival degeneration-like damage that appears in the lid fissure area near the corneal edge of the bulbar conjunctiva, this disease does not need special treatment, if it affects the appearance, repeated chronic inflammation or interferes with the wearing of corneal contact lenses, it can be considered to be removed. 2, conjunctival or scleral pigmented nevus: It is the deposition of melanin in the conjunctiva or scleral tissue. Generally, no treatment is needed, but if the nevus suddenly becomes large and rough on the surface, and there are blood vessels growing into it, you should be alert to the possibility of malignant transformation and seek medical treatment in time.
