How to determine if your eyes have astigmatism

Astigmatism is a refractive abnormality of the eye, a condition in which parallel light rays entering the eye cannot be gathered at one point due to unequal refractive power of the eye at different meridians, i.e., a clear image cannot be formed. Its occurrence is related to unequal curvature, photocentric shift and unequal refractive index, which can be diagnosed generally according to its clinical manifestations and ophthalmic auxiliary examinations. 1. Judgment of astigmatism 1. Judgment according to clinical performance If you often feel blurred or double vision, and squinting your eyes into slits can improve your vision, or your eyes are easily fatigued, you feel headache when reading for a long time, and your vision is worse at night than during the day, you are likely to have astigmatism. 2, according to the auxiliary examination judgment (1) visual acuity examination: through the far-sightedness and near-sightedness examination, you can find astigmatism, severe cases of far-sightedness and near-sightedness are poor; (2) astigmatism table observation: astigmatism table has a lot of radial stripes, examination if the examined person feels that a certain meridian stripes are not clear, indicating that there is astigmatism; (3) check refraction: including objective optometry and subjective trial optometry, can determine (3) check the refraction: including objective optometry and subjective optometry, can determine the specific situation of astigmatism. (2) astigmatism treatment 1, observation and follow-up: for regular astigmatism, does not cause visual impairment and visual fatigue, regular eye examinations can be; 2, wearing corrective lenses: if there is a decline in vision or visual fatigue and visual interference symptoms, you should wear corrective glasses as soon as possible, so as not to cause amblyopia in children. Irregular astigmatism or high astigmatism can not adapt to frame glasses, can choose corneal contact lens correction; 3, surgery: for congenital or acquired due to eye surgery, (such as cataract or corneal transplantation caused by high astigmatism), such as excimer laser in situ keratomileusis (LASIK), half non-second surgery, laser corneal thermoplasty, keratotomy, etc. Prevention of astigmatism 1. Develop good eye hygiene habits, do not rub your eyes casually; 2. Use your eyes intermittently, rest for about 10 minutes after each hour of close eye use; 3. Do more outdoor activities and look at the green wilderness in the distance; 4. Ensure reasonable reading time and posture, keep the distance between 30-40cm; 5. Have regular eye examinations and deal with any problems in time.
