What causes sunken temples

The former is often associated with craniofacial hypoplasia, Treacher Collins syndrome, triangular head deformity, navicular head deformity or congenital zygomatic hypertrophy; the latter, in addition to physiological causes such as old age or weight loss, staying up late, malnutrition and other causes of facial and temporal skin thinning and soft tissue reduction that cause temple depression, trauma, burns, surgery, hemifacial atrophy and botulinum toxin injection can also lead to temple depression.
