How long can a person with familial hypercholesterolemia live?

Patients with pure heterozygous familial hypercholesterolaemia usually develop severe cardiovascular disease in childhood and die in their 20s and 30s.
Patients with untreated heterozygous familial hypercholesterolaemia also have a significantly earlier onset of cardiovascular disease than the general population, and most patients also die from cardiovascular disease, although no average life expectancy has been reported.
