It is not possible to generalize whether to take Motherwort or Wuji Baifeng Wan for low menstrual flow. Motherwort is suitable for scanty menstrual flow caused by blood stasis. Wu Ji Bai Feng Wan is suitable for menstrual cramps caused by insufficient qi and blood.
1. Motherwort is a Chinese herb with a bitter, pungent and slightly cold flavor. It has the effects of invigorating blood and regulating menstruation (regulating menstruation by invigorating blood), diuretic and subduing swelling, and clearing heat and removing toxins (removing heat, toxins and evil qi from the body). It is used for irregular menstruation, dysmenorrhea and menstrual closure, and inexhaustible menstrual discharge.
Motherwort is good at entering the blood (the deepest stage or disease site among the four periods of warm disease, Wei Qi and Ying Blood), activating blood circulation, eliminating blood stasis, and clearing menstruation, and it is suitable for menstrual bleeding caused by blood stasis.
2. Wu Ji Bai Feng Wan is a proprietary Chinese medicine. The main ingredients are black chicken, deer antler gelatin, oyster, ginseng, astragalus and so on. It is effective in tonifying Qi and nourishing blood, regulating menstruation and stopping leucorrhoea (regulating menstruation and reducing abnormally increased leucorrhoea). It is useful for deficiency of qi and blood, thinness, lumbar and knee soreness (a feeling of soreness and weakness in the waist and knees), and irregular menstruation.
Wu Ji Bai Feng Wan is indicated for scanty menstrual flow caused by deficiency of Qi and Blood.
