What is high testosterone and low menstrual flow?

There are more reasons for low menstrual flow with high testosterone, which may be caused by adrenal cortical hyperplasia, adrenal tumor, polycystic ovary syndrome and so on.
1. Adrenocortical hyperplasia: Since testosterone in female body is mainly secreted by the reticular band of adrenal cortex, therefore, when adrenal cortex hyperplasia occurs, it may lead to a large amount of testosterone secretion, which will make the female body show the symptom of low menstrual flow with high testosterone.
2. Adrenal tumor: If you suffer from adrenal tumor, it may also lead to the symptoms of high testosterone and low menstrual flow. Because if there is a tumor in the reticular band of adrenal cortex, it may press or stimulate the reticular band of adrenal glands and secrete too much testosterone, thus causing the symptoms of high testosterone and low menstrual flow.
3. Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS): If a woman suffers from polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), it may also lead to low menstrual flow because part of testosterone is secreted by the ovaries, and PCOS may produce a large amount of luteinizing hormone to stimulate the ovaries to secrete too much testosterone, which will lead to high testosterone and low menstrual flow in the body.
There may be other reasons for high testosterone and low menstrual flow, so it is recommended to consult a doctor in time, complete the relevant examinations, clarify the cause of the disease under the guidance of a professional physician, and target treatment to avoid delaying the condition.
