Carotid plaque greater than 70% asymptomatic, prevention of stroke, also known as cerebral infarction, requires intervention through interventional or surgical treatment and oral medication.
Carotid plaque greater than 70%, although the patient is asymptomatic, but this asymptomatic is caused by the contralateral blood supply, collateral circulation compensation, does not mean that the condition is mild, carotid plaque caused by carotid stenosis of greater than 70% belongs to the severe stenosis, can be implanted through interventional therapy stents, to prevent rupture of plaques, fall off, but also through carotid endothelial stripping surgery to treat.
Long-term oral medications such as aspirin for anti-platelet aggregation and atorvastatin for plaque stabilization are also needed.
