What to know after a cesarean section

  Cesarean section is a method of delivery in which the mother’s abdomen and uterus are surgically cut open to deliver the baby.  Postoperative guidance】 1. Diet: (1) 6 hours after surgery, you can enter water, soup and other fluids, avoid juice, milk and other sweet food to prevent intestinal distension.  (2) Resume intestinal peristalsis, that is, after the anal venting can be gradually transitioned from a semi-liquid diet to a normal diet.       (3) The diet should be light, easy to digest and nutritious. Drink more water and soup food to facilitate the secretion of milk.  2. Rest and position: (1) After the operation, you should lie flat on your back for 6 hours and remove the catheter the next day before you can get out of bed to facilitate the discharge of malodex. Turn over frequently when lying in bed.  (2) If there is no special condition, you can get out of bed 24 hours after surgery to increase intestinal peristalsis, promote exhaustion and defecation, and prevent intestinal adhesions.  3. Prevention of complications: (1) Generally, a catheter should be left in place for 24 hours after surgery. The catheter should be removed only after the anus is exhausted.  (2) Consciously cough and cough up sputum to increase lung capacity and prevent pulmonary complications.  (3) Keep the vulva clean and wash it 1 to 2 times a day to prevent retrograde infection.  (4) Postpartum bleeding mostly occurs within 12 hours after surgery. Pay attention to vaginal bleeding, such as frequent change of perineal pads and high amount of malodex outflow, and tell the medical staff to deal with it in time; if the malodex has a special smell, postpartum infection may have occurred, and the medical staff should be told to deal with it.  4. After returning to the ward from surgery, the baby should be in contact with the mother’s skin within 1 hour and suckle for 30 minutes early to increase mother-child affection and also promote milk secretion, enhance uterine contraction and prevent postpartum bleeding.  【Discharge instruction】 1.Keep a happy mood, pay attention to the combination of work and rest, appropriate activities and entertainment.  2, 2 years of contraception, factor uterine wall scar, premature pregnancy, the risk of perforation of abortion.  3, reasonable dietary arrangements, pay attention to balanced nutrition, meat and vegetables, a small number of meals, after discharge diet more high-protein, high vitamin, high fiber, low-fat food (such as vegetables, fruits, fish, meat, shrimp), less spicy and stimulating, pickled food, more soup, more blood nourishing food to promote lactation.  4, the room should be clean and quiet, temperature and humidity appropriate, winter warmth, summer heat, reasonable use of air conditioning, open the window 1-2 times a day, at least 30 minutes each time, to keep the indoor air fresh.  5.Forbid intercourse for 6-8 weeks after delivery, do not take a tub bath to avoid retrograde infection.  6.After 30 days and 42 days after delivery, you should come to the obstetrics department for a review.  7.If vaginal bleeding lasts for a long time and abdominal wound healing is not good, you should consult a doctor in time.  8.Ensure sufficient sleep, walk freely in the room, do postpartum health exercises, gradually increase the amount of exercise, do not stand for too long during the puerperium, do not squat and carry heavy objects and other labor that increase abdominal pressure to prevent uterine prolapse. Sexual intercourse is prohibited for 6-8 weeks after delivery, and correct contraceptive measures should be taken when sexual intercourse is allowed.  9, adhere to breastfeeding, breastfeeding on demand, milking in a timely manner, to keep the ducts of the breast smooth. Wash your hands and nipples before each breastfeeding, apply a little milk to the nipples after breastfeeding to prevent nipple cracking, and wear a loose bra.  10. Pay attention to personal hygiene, brush your teeth and wash your face every day; keep your vulva clean, wash your perineum with warm water every day, change your underwear regularly; wash your hair and take a bath at the right time according to your physical condition and hygiene, and forbid taking a bath in a tub.  11. Disinfect the umbilical cord of newborns 1-2 times a day and keep the umbilical cord dry. A small amount of bleeding is normal when the umbilical cord is shed.
