Implant treatment sequence for insufficient maxillary posterior tooth height – maxillary sinus external lift

Clinical cases of inadequate maxillary posterior tooth height are often encountered. It is generally considered that an extra maxillary sinus lift technique is required to assist with implantation when the remaining bone height is below 3 mm. It is generally recommended that patients with maxillary sinus external lift are able to tolerate the procedure themselves, and there are no absolute contraindications to the procedure. There will be varying degrees of facial swelling after surgery, and it is recommended to apply local cold compresses for no more than 48 hours and antibiotics for 3-5 days after surgery. The following is a typical case: multiple missing maxillary posterior teeth, local alveolar bone height of about 3 mm, maxillary sinus lift with simultaneous implant placement.
