How to treat atrial septal defect secondary to foramen ovale

Atrial septal defect is a type of congenital heart disease, mainly due to the presence of one or more channels in the left and right atria that should not be there, resulting in the mixing of blood from the left and right heart, which seriously affects the hemodynamics, and should be treated actively once it occurs. There are two main ways to treat septal defects secondary to foramen ovale: the first can be treated with minimally invasive interventional blocking surgery; the second can be treated with surgical open-chest direct view repair surgery. Both procedures can be used to achieve a radical cure. After the procedure, cardiotonic, diuretic and myocardial nutrient drugs should be taken to help the patient recover more quickly.
