How does cervical disease affect IVF?

Cervical liquid-based cytology, commonly known as cancer screening cytology smears, plays a huge role in early detection of cervical diseases. If mild to moderate cervical inflammation is reported, you can leave it alone if there is no obvious discomfort. Severe cervical inflammation, or symptoms of cervicitis, can be treated, but it usually doesn’t prevent pregnancy either. Low or high grade cervical lesions require review or colposcopy, and if there is no cervical cancer, pregnancy can be treated and cervical conization has no adverse effect on IVF outcomes.
