What you must know about inguinal hernia surgery

Currently, there are many laparoscopic surgical methods, the most commonly used are the following three: 1. Transabdominal laparoscopic simple internal ring closure The original procedure for laparoscopic hernia repair was done by Ger in 1982. This method is actually a high ligation of the hernia sac, so it is suitable for pediatric inguinal hernia and occult hernia in adults without posterior wall defects. In our hospital, the procedure required only one day of hospitalization and did not exceed 3000 RMB. This method was first designed by the laparoscopic surgical laboratory staff of Creighton University in the United States. The main method is to place a patch into the abdominal cavity, lay it on the abdominal wall defect and fix it with a staple clip or fix it with a needle suture. This method is simple and easy to perform, but there is a risk of fibrous adhesion intestinal obstruction and erosion of the intestinal canal and other organs by the implanted patch. Transabdominal preperitoneal mesh hernia repair is currently the most widely used procedure and was first reported by Maurice Arreyui in 1991. The main method is to cut the peritoneum transversely at the upper edge of the internal ring about 2M, transect the internal ring of the hernia sac, subconsciously separate the peri-annulus, Hasselbach’s triangle, deliver a suitable patch into the abdominal cavity, lay it flat to cover the opening of the internal ring, fix it with a stapler, and then suture the peritoneum to prevent postoperative intestinal adhesions, but the operation is complicated.
