How is facial neuritis treated?

1.Improve local blood circulation, reduce facial nerve edema, relieve the pressure on the nerve and promote functional recovery. At present, most advocate the use of a course of adrenocorticotropic hormone treatment as early as possible in the acute stage. 2. If Hunt syndrome is caused by herpes zoster infection, antiviral treatment is available. 3.Vitamin B drugs can promote the recovery of nerve myelin. 4.Physiotherapy: In the acute stage, ultrashort wave heat therapy or infrared radiation is performed near the stomatopore, or local hot compresses are applied to the stomatopore to help improve local blood circulation and eliminate neuroedema. 5, acupuncture therapy: one of the most important methods of treatment during the recovery period. 6, rehabilitation therapy and functional exercise: functional training should be started as early as possible, as long as the affected side muscles can move, that is, self-functional exercise, can be made in front of the mirror frown, raise the forehead, close the eyes, show teeth, cheek and whistle and other movements, several times a day, a few minutes each time, and supplemented with facial muscle massage. 7.Surgical treatment: If the patient has not recovered after 2 years of illness, facial nerve-paraglottic nerve, facial nerve-sublingual nerve or facial nerve-phrenic nerve anastomosis can be considered, but the efficacy is still difficult to be sure, and it is only appropriate to try in serious cases. Patients with severe facial palsy can undergo cosmetic surgery. 8. Prevention of ocular complications: because of the inability to close the eyes and transient eyes, the cornea is prone to infection due to long-term exposure, so eye shields, eye drops and eye ointments can be used for protection.
