Do I need to open my eyes?

In the clinic, we are often asked this question by little girls. Now let’s briefly explain what kind of conditions require an eye opening. Most of us oriental people have a layer of skin covering the inner corner of the eye, and this is called the inner canthus. Due to the presence of the canthus, we have a different shape of eye corners than Europeans and Americans, and we look more beautiful. But when there are the following situations, surgery is needed to remove the inner canthus – to correct the inner canthus, which is often referred to as opening the inner corner of the eye. 1. The canthus is too obvious, making the distance between the eyes too wide. By opening the corner of the eye, the distance between the eyes can be narrowed. 2, short eyes, if not open the eye angle, simply do double eyelids will make the eyes look short and round, and after opening the eye angle will make the eyes longer, so that the ratio of eye length and height is more coordinated. 3.Like parallel type double eyelids. The inner canthus is a form of skin, and its presence will make the double eyelids naturally connected to the corner of the eye, and what is formed is a fan-shaped shape. Of course, fan-shaped double eyelids are also very good-looking, but if you want a parallel effect in the case of canthal redundancy, you need surgery to remove the redundant skin. This leads to another question, what about the scarring of the eye opening? This is an objective process that exists in the human body, and we cannot deny its existence, but there is no need to be overly fearful. After eye opening, this part is exposed to the outside, so it looks more obvious during the scar proliferation period, but after half a year, most people’s scar will fade to a large extent, leaving only a very thin, slightly white mark, so don’t worry too much. In cases like the three mentioned above that require surgical correction of the medial canthus, the rewards of opening the eye angle definitely outweigh the risks. During the scar proliferation period (starting 2 weeks after surgery and peaking in the second to third months), you can use anti-scar medication to reduce the degree of reaction and minimize the proliferation time, while more importantly, be psychologically strong and don’t worry too much about anxiety, after all, this is a necessary part of everyone’s life, and it will still exist even if you worry about it again, so be patient and wait for six months for it to fade naturally and for you to become more beautiful.
