Tuberculosis of the cavitary type is curable. The treatment for tuberculosis is usually regular anti-tuberculosis treatment. Generally, for patients with primary tuberculosis, the course of treatment is 6 months, with the first 2 months being the intensive period and the last 4 months being the consolidation period. The drugs used during the intensive period are rifampin, isoniazid, ethambutol and pyrazinamide, and only rifampin and isoniazid are needed during the consolidation period. There is also a part of tuberculosis that is relapsed, which requires a relatively long course of treatment, about 9 months or even 1 year, and it requires the addition of streptomycin or quinolones to the above mentioned drugs, and the efficacy should be evaluated by regular lung CT during the course of treatment.
