The fetal heartbeat is an important indicator of the survival of the embryo during early pregnancy and usually appears at 7-8 weeks of gestation. The early or late appearance of fetal heartbeat is generally not very relevant to whether or not the fetus is prone to abortion, and the presence of fetal heartbeat usually indicates that the embryo is currently in a normal state. The time of appearance of the fetal heart is closely related to the regularity of the pregnant woman’s menstrual cycle and the development speed of the embryo itself, and there are some individual differences. For pregnant women with regular menstrual cycle, the fetal heart can be seen as early as 6 weeks of pregnancy, while for some pregnant women with irregular menstrual cycle, the fetal heart may appear only at 9 weeks of pregnancy, which is normal. If all indicators are normal and the pregnant woman is in good health, the pregnancy can usually go smoothly. Fetal arrest is mainly caused by chromosomal abnormality of embryo, maternal infection, abnormal sperm of father, etc. It usually appears before 10 weeks of pregnancy, and the high incidence of fetal arrest is around 8 weeks of pregnancy. There is no clear correlation between the early and late appearance of fetal heartbeat and fetal abortion, so pregnant women should not worry too much and just have regular maternity checkups during pregnancy.
