Suprahemorrhoidal mucosal circumferential stapling (PPH)

Suprahemorrhoidal Mucosal Circumferential Stapling (PPH) is indicated for patients with internal and mixed hemorrhoids, especially severe internal hemorrhoids and partial rectal mucosal prolapse. The principle is that the anal cushion is preserved and a part of the internal hemorrhoids and suprahemorrhoidal mucosa and submucosa tissues are removed in a circular fashion while an instant anastomosis is performed. It not only blocks the blood supply of hemorrhoids, but also suspends and fixes the slipped tissues, restores the pathological state of the anorectum to its normal anatomical state, and has the effect of reducing the volume. This is a new technique based on the theory that hemorrhoids are caused by anal cushion lesions. The whole procedure only takes about half an hour, and because the rectal mucosa above the dentate line is innervated by visceral nerves, the patient has almost no pain after surgery; PPH surgery preserves the anal cushion, does not damage the anal sphincter, there is no surgical incision in the anus, and the physiological function of the anal cushion is preserved to the maximum, compared with the traditional external dialysis and internal ligation, PPH has the following advantages: 1. PPH has the following advantages: 1) less pain after surgery, 2) shorter surgery time, less damage, faster recovery, 3) no damage to the anal sphincter, no incontinence, no anal stenosis, 4) low recurrence rate of hemorrhoids, and beautiful appearance. Of course, PPH also has its limitations and is not suitable for all hemorrhoids, while PPH is a potentially high-risk operation, so the operation plan should be determined and carried out by an experienced anorectal surgeon.
