Cost of myopia correction surgery

Myopia correction surgery in China has undergone a development process of about 20 to 30 years, and now with the continuous improvement of surgical equipment and the increasing number of people undergoing surgery, this type of surgery has become increasingly mature. The cost of surgery also ranges from a few thousand dollars in the past to tens of thousands of dollars now. The cost of the earlier myopia correction surgery, such as radial keratotomy-CK surgery, was about $3,000 to $4,000 in the early days, and although this surgery is now being phased out, there are still a few areas where it is still being performed, but now the cost of this surgery is relatively low, at about $1,000 to $2,000. The latest and most popular form of myopia correction is the full femtosecond laser myopia correction surgery, which costs about $10,000 to $20,000 for one eye. There are other myopia correction surgeries, such as LASIK, LASEK, PRK, T-PRK, etc., which are also more common and cost several thousand to tens of thousands of dollars. The cost of myopia correction surgery is not only related to the surgical equipment and surgical methods, but also has geographical differences, and is related to the degree of economic development and related policies of each region. In developed areas, the cost is relatively high, generally in the tens of thousands of dollars, while in less economically developed areas, the cost is relatively low, generally in the range of a few thousand dollars.
