Characteristics of pharyngitis and coughing up blood

The actual coughing up of blood is not usually caused by pharyngitis. The main manifestation of pharyngitis is chronic inflammation of the pharynx and larynx, which is characterized by chronic congestion and edema of the mucous membrane of the pharynx and larynx, hyperplasia of the lymphatic follicles in the posterior pharyngeal wall, and even hypertrophy of the lateral cords of the pharynx, with clinical symptoms such as dryness, itching, tingling and foreign body discomfort in the throat. If coughing up blood is more obvious, most of them are caused by respiratory system diseases, such as inflammation of lung and bronchus as well as bronchial, tracheal and capillary dilation, rupture and bleeding. Therefore, if coughing up blood occurs repeatedly in clinical practice, bronchoscopy can be used promptly to look for bleeding points.
