What is Zika virus and what are the dangers

Zika virus, also known as Zika virus, is a mosquito-borne virus that spreads mainly in various regions of Brazil. The common signs of infection include fever, rash, joint pain, muscle pain, headache, and conjunctivitis (red eyes), which are usually mild and can last from a few days to a week. Severe illnesses requiring hospitalization are uncommon. Zika virus is a mosquito-borne virus that spreads rapidly and can cause “microcephaly” in babies. Pregnant women should therefore try to avoid visiting infected areas where the virus is present. The Zika virus was first discovered in Africa in the 1940s and has since spread to Southeast Asia, the Pacific Islands and the Americas. Because the Aedes aegypti mosquito that transmits the virus can be found all over the world, an outbreak of the virus is likely to spread to many more countries. And a week ago, national infectious disease experts issued a travel alert for the same reason, advising pregnant women to delay travel to Brazil, Colombia, El Salvador, French Guiana, Guatemala, Haiti, Honduras, Martinique, Mexico, Panama, Paraguay, Suriname, Venezuela and Puerto Rico. There are no medications available to prevent the disease, only symptomatic treatment.
