Do you need treatment for high alkaline phosphatase?

Whether high alkaline phosphatase needs to be treated requires specific analysis. If a child is developing, high alkaline phosphatase is normal and does not require undue concern, but if it is at another age, it needs to be taken seriously. There are many reasons for high alkaline phosphatase. Non-disease factors include pregnancy, eating fatty meals, and bone growth. Disease causes include cirrhosis, bile duct disease, chronic hepatitis, rickets, hyperthyroidism, chronic renal insufficiency, malignancy, and many other diseases, in addition to elevations in malnutrition, severe anemia, and fractures. Therefore, alkaline phosphatase values alone cannot determine whether treatment is needed. Patients who find that their alkaline phosphatase is high can have their alkaline phosphatase checked regularly to keep track of the dynamics, but there is no need to be overly concerned. During this period, it is important to rest as much as possible, not to overexert oneself and to pay attention to balanced nutrition.
