Stage IV lung cancer, what to do

Patients with stage 4 lung cancer are at an advanced stage and can only choose a combination of radiotherapy, chemotherapy, and targeted therapy depending on their physical condition.

Stage 4 lung cancer has lost the chance of surgery and can only be treated by radiotherapy and chemotherapy. If the patient has advanced lung cancer with bone metastases and brain metastases, local radiotherapy should be given along with systemic therapy to control the progression of the disease.

The survival time of patients with advanced lung cancer is generally short, a year to a year and a half on average, but if the treatment is reasonable and the patient is in good health, the survival time can be extended appropriately, but if the patient is in poor health, severely deprived of nutrition and unable to undergo various treatments, the survival time is generally shorter than three months. In this case, the patient’s symptoms should be treated in a symptomatic manner to reduce the patient’s pain and improve the quality of survival.
