What is Double Blepharoplasty?

Double eyelid Most Korean women think that double eyelid cutting is not considered plastic surgery at all, it is just a general cosmetic procedure. This is because double eyelid shaping is almost the easiest of all plastic surgery procedures. The secret to creating Korean double eyelids is the careful design prior to surgery, cutting through the eyelid skin, removing some of the fat and excess skin, and forming a perfect heavy eyelid line with only a three-point suture between the dermis and the lid, with the skin finely sutured with a special cosmetic thread. Advantages: The result is natural and beautiful, with almost no visible scars, and more natural and beautiful when the eyes are closed. Time required for surgery: one and a half hours. Recovery time: short. swelling can be reduced to normal in about 5 days. Pain level: minimal. Almost no pain is felt. Applicable people: Adult women. Indications for surgery: Anyone who is healthy, mentally normal and has requested surgery on their own initiative without contraindications, or who has lax eyelid skin, is suitable for surgery. Contraindications: Blepharoplasty is not suitable for people with wide eye fissures, short round eyes, prominent eyeballs, strabismus, ptosis, post-implantation, facial palsy, mental abnormalities, peculiar aesthetic views, unrealistic or unreasonable demands. Surgical Classification: Because the structure and shape of the eyelid is different for each person, the surgical method used to form the blepharoplasty is different. The methods of blepharoplasty can be divided into two categories, the suture method and the incision method. (i) The buried suture method uses a cosmetic thread to suture the dermis of the skin to the lid or levator tendon, relying on the scar adhesions created by the surgical trauma to form the blepharoplasty. Some beauty salons and clinics call this “polymer eyelid”. This method is suitable for patients with thin upper eyelid tissue and younger patients. The disadvantage is that the eyelid tends to disappear and the excess skin, orbicularis oculi and orbital fat cannot be removed, so it is not suitable for patients with thick upper lid tissue and thick skin, orbicularis oculi orbital fat. It is not suitable for patients with thick upper lid tissue and skin, orbicularis oris muscle hypertrophy or orbital fat. (ii) Incisional method Common method: The skin is incised at the appropriate location on the upper lid skin, some of the orbicularis orbicularis muscle or orbital septum fat is removed, and the skin incision lid or upper lid levator tendon is sutured together. It has the advantage that the anatomy in the surgical area is clear and the operations can be performed accurately, removing the excess skin, orbicularis oris muscle and orbital fat to create a permanent and natural looking blepharoplasty. This is our preferred method. The disadvantages are that the procedure is more complex, the recovery is slower, and the surgeon is required to have a high level of surgical skill. It is suitable for patients of any age, but is particularly suitable for older patients with loose skin and excess orbital fat in their upper lids (both single lids and those with heavy lids but loose skin)
