Many diseases are related to acute pancreatitis, and the most important causes of acute pancreatitis are still bile duct disease and alcohol, and the incidence of acute pancreatitis due to hyperlipidemia has been on the rise in recent years. 1, bile duct disease: bile duct stones and gallbladder stones are one of the most common causes of acute pancreatitis, and a large number of previous studies have confirmed that gallstones can be found in the stool of 90% of patients with biliary pancreatitis. Gallbladder stones can form bile duct stones by migrating to the bile duct, and smaller diameter bile duct stones are more likely to cause episodes of acute pancreatitis than larger diameter bile duct stones, possibly related to the transient inflammatory edema caused by the passage of bile duct stones through the clivus expansion muscle. It has also been found that about 2/3 of patients with acute pancreatitis, which was thought to have no clear cause, were finally found to have “bile duct microstones”, and since acute pancreatitis due to bile duct microstones may recur even after removal of the gallbladder, recurrent episodes of acute pancreatitis should be considered if patients still have episodes of acute pancreatitis after removal of the gallbladder. Therefore, if a patient still has an episode of acute pancreatitis after removal of the gallbladder, the possibility of bile duct microstones should be considered. For patients with bile duct stones or gallbladder stones, they should be removed through minimally invasive means as soon as possible after recovery from acute pancreatitis. 2, alcohol: acute alcoholism is the main cause of acute pancreatitis in Western countries, while in China this cause plays a secondary role, in recent years, due to changes in lifestyle and living standards, the number of patients with acute pancreatitis attacks caused by alcohol abuse is gradually increasing. 3, hyperlipidemia: Previously, acute pancreatitis due to hyperlipidemia was considered very rare, but recently, acute pancreatitis due to hyperlipidemia has been on the rise year by year. Hyperlipidemic acute pancreatitis can be prevented by lowering triglycerides, so controlling blood triglycerides through diet and medication can effectively prevent the recurrence of acute pancreatitis. 4, drugs and toxins: drug acute pancreatitis is one of the rare clinical diseases, so far there are about 260 drugs related to acute pancreatitis, including azathioprine and mercaptopurine is the most likely to cause acute pancreatitis drugs. 5, idiopathic pancreatitis: about 10%-25% of patients can not find the cause after a comprehensive examination, called acute idiopathic pancreatitis, with the continuous progress of various imaging and endoscopic diagnostic means, there will be more patients with idiopathic pancreatitis is expected to clarify the cause.
