Initial symptoms of chickenpox in children

Chickenpox is an acute infectious disease caused by varicella-zoster virus infection. It occurs mainly in preschool children aged 1 to 10 years, mostly in winter and spring, and is highly contagious through contact or droplet transmission. It is characterized by fever and the appearance of red papules, herpes and scabs all over the body. The incubation period of chickenpox is about 2 weeks, and the prodromal symptoms are not obvious in infants and young children, but older children may show mild to moderate fever, headache, general lethargy, and anorexia. The rash can appear in the scalp, trunk pressure part, and quickly become a round blister with a red halo around the size of a grain of rice to a pea, usually after 2 to 3 days the blister crusts, and after the scabs are removed, it heals without leaving a scar. Because chickenpox is highly contagious, children should be isolated early to avoid infecting others. The disease has no special treatment, the main symptomatic treatment, itchy skin can be applied with furnace glycerine lotion. The child with chicken pox should be given an easily digestible, nutritious liquid and semi-liquid diet, give the child more boiled water, appropriate amount of vitamin supplements, avoid eating greasy, ginger, chili and other irritating foods and hair. Keep the skin clean, avoid scratching, and prevent secondary skin infections.
