Treatment of Femoral Head Necrosis

The main clinical manifestations of femoral head necrosis are ischemic, joint pain and restricted joint movement, and on physical examination, internal rotation, external rotation and abduction of the hip joint. X-ray performance can be divided into four stages (not detailed here: MRI and nuclear scan can often be positive in the early stage of femoral head necrosis, six months to a year earlier than the X-ray. Therefore, the two tests or one of them is feasible for patients suspected of having femoral head necrosis; treatment is closely related to the clinical stage: for early patients and patients with stage I and II radiographs, medullary drilling and decompression or medullary drilling and decompression with bone grafting is feasible; for patients with stage III and IV, treatment methods are selected according to the severity of their clinical symptoms: 1. For young patients with mild pain, weight reduction and oral medication can be given, while osteotomy (acetabular osteotomy, upper femoral osteotomy) or even joint fusion surgery can be given to patients with severe symptoms, which is especially suitable for those with heavy physical work; 3.
