The IVF process is complex and has the following stages: 1. Superovulation In general, during an IVF cycle, drugs are used to promote the development of multiple follicles in order to obtain multiple eggs. There are various options for ovulation, and the doctor will choose the right one according to the patient’s specific situation. On the day of egg retrieval, the male partner will accompany the female partner to the clinic at the time ordered by the doctor. Both the man and the woman should bring their original ID cards and marriage certificates. Before egg retrieval, the original ID and marriage certificate of both parties should be reviewed. Empty the bowels and urine before egg retrieval. Stay in the observation room after egg retrieval and leave the hospital only after there is no significant abnormality and after obtaining permission from the medical staff. Mild abdominal pain, nausea and vomiting after egg retrieval can be left untreated and will usually gradually resolve on its own. If you experience persistent abdominal pain or increased abdominal pain, bloating or other abnormalities, please report them to the doctor for prompt treatment. If there is active vaginal bleeding after egg retrieval, the doctor will stop the bleeding by filling the vagina with gauze and remove it by the nurse at an appropriate time. If it comes off on its own, inform the staff promptly. If there is still bleeding, continue to apply pressure to stop the bleeding. Avoid strenuous exercise before and after egg retrieval to prevent ovarian torsion. Tell the doctor promptly if there is persistent and obvious abdominal distension and little urination, and forbid intercourse for 7 days after surgery. Pay attention to a high-protein diet, increase the amount of fruits and vegetables, and keep your bowels open. On the morning of the second day of egg retrieval, come to the department according to the staff’s notice or call to find out the fertilization status of the eggs. 3. Embryo transfer Before embryo transfer, the medical staff will check the original ID card and marriage certificate of both parties. Empty your bowels before embryo transfer and fill your bladder appropriately as instructed by your doctor. Do not hold urine after embryo transfer to avoid urinary tract infection or urinary retention. Stay in the observation room of the department after embryo transfer and leave the hospital only after there is no significant abnormality and after obtaining permission from the medical staff. If you have quality embryos left over after the embryo transfer of your IVF cycle, they can be frozen and preserved. This way, if a pregnancy is not achieved in a fresh embryo transfer cycle, frozen embryos can be transferred in a later cycle while saving money.
